Solberga grave field

Fornlämning, Archaological site

In the Solberga nature reserve, the pastures with their thick, old oak giants are beautifully located on both sides of the Svartån and around the Solberga farm. Here, exciting burial fields from the Iron Age are also hidden.

Perhaps the most remarkable are the two burial fields from the Iron Age located in the eastern pasture south of Svartån. The fields consist of a total of 150 stones, and the graves are of various types – stone settings, standing stones, stone circles, chamber graves, and even a trident. A good distance outside the burial fields in the western pasture, two individual graves have been found.

Nearby the burial fields, there is also a stone row from the Iron Age. And in some places in the pastures, there are old fields from different ages, which include individual cairns and ditches.

For those interested in the burial fields, a visit is recommended early in the spring or late in the autumn when the vegetation is low.
