Kungshögarna

Archaological site

The grave field Kungshögarna, or Knektahagen as it is also called, is located on a plateau that rises 135 meters above sea level.

The field is located on a gravel hill and consists of 125 ancient monuments, 20 mounds, 80 round stone settings, and 9 stone circles, 12 tripods, 1 ship-shaped stone setting, and 3 standing stones. Several of the stones are overgrown with grass and moss.

If we are to believe the sources, a battle took place here in 1543 during the Dacke War, but this is not substantiated.
