Veta Gammelgård

Kulturhistoria

The lovely little park Veta Gammelgård is located just south of Veta school, with a forest behind and fields that surround it on both sides.

On an early autumn evening, cantor Holger Nilsson in Veta gathered a group of interested locals, all of whom shared a common bond: a passionate interest in their home village. For the preservation of the cultural heritage that their fathers left behind, to be followed up by them and then handed down to new generations. This group formed the Veta Local Heritage Society at a meeting on Wednesday, August 21, 1929, at 8 PM.

The Veta Local Heritage Society still works today to care for, preserve, and make accessible the beautiful local heritage park with its associated buildings and collections. The area is actively used by locals and more. Throughout the year, Midsummer celebrations and other events are organized for both young and old.
