Sandbergsgården in Old Skänninge

Skänninge, Mjölby   -  Part of: S:ta Ingrid's Gille, Skänninge's Local History/Folklore Society

A town house from the 1700s where the small spy-holes in the doors show us how the maid once stood and watched upon her household.

Here you will experience a 19th century bourgeois milieu where original wall paintings from the 1700s are preserved.

The belonging garden with sheds, pavilion and the old plants and fruit varieties is the only Grade 1 listed garden in Mjölby Municipality.

Sandbergsgården was donated by Ulrika Sandberg in 1938 to Skänninge local history society.

You can also see furniture and objects from three other old Skänninge profiles for example Alva Widerström, a famous lace-making lady.

There are also wood carvings of Bernth Dahlqvist on display.

Follow Järntorgsgatan from Stora torget. You will find Sandbergsgården on your right hand side.
