In the old church was a beautiful altarpiece made in Lubeck, decorated with 16 sculptures, which can be seen in the church today. Other objects from the medieval church is a triumph crucifix and a prim bell. There are also several epitaphs. The baptismal font rom 1678 is carved in limestone by the Vadstena artisan Jan Andersson. In the churchyard stands the bronze sculpture "The Sower" by Gottfrid Larsson. He is also buried here, as he was born and grew up in Vallerstad. Several of Gottfrid Larsson's sculptures can be viewed in the Town Hall in Skänninge.
